I was asked to pit together a tig flat plate with stainless 309 filler for display. I also made an outside corner joint with bevel and a 1/8" landing. This was also filled with 309.

Domo arigato mr roboto
I've been working on this in school for a bit. My wife collects old tin robots, so I wanted to make he one cor her birthday.
It is finished. I'm going to work on some patina methods to give it some "age"
It's all 1/16 sheet with the exception of the feet and arms that are 1/8.

Here some 16 gauge work I was doing today. Lap joint, fillet square groove and outside corner.
I ground the last 2 in order to check for penetration.

Back to Tig
So after the fcaw 2g and 3g tests yesterday, I'm back to practicing my Tig 1g for the 18th.
Things seem to be rolling along nicely.

Tig welding
So I've moved up to doing test plates for tig. My first one bent with no issues. Here is a shot of the root passes for the second plate. I shot it while waiting for the plate to cool.
Also some shots of 1 1/4" .120 wall ERW tubing that I will be using for a frame build after I'm done the course. I coped and tigged it and then put it in the destructive testing bender to see how it would hold up and it looks great.

Here we are a few months in
Well things have been going nicely and my midterm mark was an 82.
I have now done mig, flux core, stick and tig. I still have more work to do perfecting my tig work but all the others have become almost second nature.
